Volunteers serving food at a table in a bright room
Empty Bowls 2026

Empty bowls, full hearts.

123 guests filled the room and helped raise $10,203.61 for the Food Bank.

Island potters donated one-of-a-kind handmade bowls, local kitchens made the soup, Orcas Bakery donated bread, and Orcas Center donated the Madrona Room. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the table.

Summer update

Construction on the Pea Patch campus

Site work by local contractor Island Ex includes utility connections, stormwater retention and a new entry road. The old Curtis farmhouse is being moved to become the commons building for 20 new OPAL townhomes.

Community voices

Building community and connection

Lindsay Jennings of the Orcas Island Community Foundation writes that 50% of island residents cannot afford both food and housing, and invites neighbors to help close the campaign gap.

Neighbors helping neighbors.

Every gift buys fresh produce, dairy, protein and staples for island families, seniors and kids, all year round.
